MISSION - People4People
Our team believes in "People Empowering People". One of our main goals is to provide a 'hand up' to children and families served by the Department of Human Services. Trained volunteers serve along side area social service organizations that you can find at the 211 link above, as well as through area faith-based groups. Working together we can accomplish more than we can alone to help provide community services. Our volunteers focus on "People Helping People". This is the facet of LifeCare that works with the various community groups, organizations, as well as people of faith through training, communicating service resource information and at times, tracking incoming and outgoing referrals.
Area organizations working together can help fill the gaps in crucial community services so those in need receive care and support. without duplication of services.
Through an area 'Help Center' individuals with various needs are assisted. Participating faith-based groups provide the 'Benevolence Request Form' to people for completion. Then an appointment is scheduled with the 'Help Center' team who coordinate resources to help meet those needs. Individuals can also call 211 for a list of other community services in the area. The LifeCare Committees serving in this area are: 1) Benevolence Committee, 2) Referrals Committee and 3) Assistance Committee.
TRAINING & EDUCATION make love known
by learning to model healthy skills
Through training and seminars we prepare volunteers to meet the needs of service organizations, themselves and other people using healthy relationship skills and an agreed upon foundation. This is the part of LifeCare that helps train the volunteers and community members on various topics that help improve our relationships, our ministry efforts and our unity with one another. As we grow in our ability to work together for the good of our entire city, LOVE is made more visible. We hope to assist people in discovering and using their uniquely created design and destiny. As we become better equipped to care for ourselves and for others we can go forth in the community to serve using healthy mentoring relationships. Training helps establish and maintain love, unity and healthy relationships for the advancement of love, kindness, peace and joy in our city.
